Bible Study Method

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day - teach a man to fish and feed him for life!

This is a useful study method when you are seeking to train others to study the Bible for themselves. The steps are straight forward - the application is what holds it altogether. Spend as much time on Step 5 as the rest put together. The more you use this method the more you will like it! I have called the study members "students".

Pray FIRST! This cannot be emphasised enough. If the participants call upon the Lord for His help they will be more inclined to look to Him for wisdom and understanding. [James 1:5-6]

Draw a rectangle around people and places.To begin with the study members will probably spot every "you" and "him". After a while they should be led to see it is only necessary to find one mention of each person involved. Once the student sees who the players are s/he will begin to see how everything fits together.
